Graduation Day – Dec 2022

Participants at the Labour Education Centre began the new year with a bang as students in three programs: TradeLinx, Youth Employment Services (YES), and the Toronto Community Benefits Network (TCBN) all graduated from their respective programs.

Golden Mile News Update

Aecon-Golden Mile (A-GM), a community-led joint venture between the Centre for Inclusive Economic Opportunity Golden Mile (CIEO) (51%) and Aecon (49%), is expanding economic opportunities and helping local residents in the Greater Golden Mile area of Scarborough, Ontario overcome employment barriers and launch thriving careers in the trades.

TradeLinx is Now Recruiting

LEC is pleased to open a new cohort of its TradeLinx pre-apprentice training program for Ontario Works (OW) recipients who are interested in a career in the skilled trades/construction industry. Learn more about the program and send us your application. 

Golden Mile Trades Training

This 6 week in-class training is followed by 8 weeks paid placement ($23/hr) to train on Aecon’s Hydro-Vac trucks. Training starts February 21, 2023
