Overview

The Golden Mile Trades Training program provides a unique opportunity for participants to receive in-class training as well as potential employment opportunities within the Greater Golden Mile area. During the program, participants will receive:

6 weeks of in-class training (unpaid)
Health and Safety certifications
Guest lectures and site visits
Hands-on experience

What You Get

Golden Mile Trades Training program participants will earn a variety of Health and Safety certifications that are essential for work in the skilled trades. Certifications include:

By enrolling in the Golden Mile Trades Training program, participants also have the opportunity for potential employment following the completion of the in-class training sessions.

Requirements

Completion of Grade 10 or high school education is a must. (Canadian equivalency is required if education is from outside of Canada).

Having a driver’s license is an asset.

Full Description

Launch your career in the construction industry when you join the Golden Mile Trades Training program with LEC. This is a 6-week in-class training program (unpaid), with possible employment opportunities available.

During this training students will receive the following certifications:

Globally Harmonized WHMIS
Working at Heights
Workplace Violence and Harassment
Introduction to PPE
Introduction to Hand Tools
Safety Awareness in Four Steps
First Aid
Confined Space Entry and Hazard Recognition
Traffic Control

Hydro-vac trucks use high-pressure water to break soil around underground utilities (natural gas, hydro, etc). It uses high pressure water to break the ground and vacuum suction to remove the soil.

Priority will be given to residents in the following postal codes:
