Resident Inspector - AECOM

AECOM is searching for a Resident Inspector for a full-time position to be based out of one of its Greater Toronto Area locations (Whitby, Markham or Mississauga). Duties and Responsibilities:

May assist with training entry-level employees
Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties
Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records
Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning
Tracks quality assurance progress
Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers

Required Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

High school diploma + 4 years of relevant experience in a field role on transportation or water infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Driving license and access to own vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

P.Eng or CET designations are an asset
10+ years of experience with the following:
- Managing civil construction projects greater than $2 M
- Projects of the same type, e.g. odour control facilities, water distribution systems, sewage collection systems, sewage pumping stations, sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects, etc.
- Construction methods of open cut, watertight closed sheeting, vertical trenching and all other trenchless technologies
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Accuracy with details is essential
Experience working around mobile heavy equipment
Familiar with materials testing procedures and construction coordination services
Ability to read and interpret Civil construction drawings and specifications
AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience is an asset
Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC) is an asset
