HR Assistant

An engineering firm in Markham, Ontario is hiring an Human Resources Assistant on a full-time basis beginning in April 2022. Interested applicants are encouraged to send an email with an attached résumé to [email protected] today.

The HR Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Prepare HR documents, like employment contracts and new hire guides; Assist with new hire orientations, Organize and maintain internal employee record
  • Prepare and process paperwork, including but not limited to the attendance program, employee reimbursements, leaves of absence, sickness/accident claims, retirements, and terminations
  • Maintain and keep updating Human Resources policy; Support and assist operational departments on the appropriate usage of leave entitlements, benefits administration etc.
  • Plan and execute employee events such as employee recognition dinners and Christmas Parties as required
  • Performs administrative duties, including invoicing, bookkeeping, human resource processes, material planning, and coordination of office supplies
  • Documentation support including posting advertising, jobs, reviewing resumes, and administration documentation
  • Performs other related administrative duties as assigned

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum two years of experience working experience as an HR Administrator, Administrative Assistant or relevant role
  • Solid understanding of applicable employment and benefits laws and legislation
  • Strong digital proficiency, especially in the Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to professionally manage confidential material
  • Experience with Quickbooks would be considered an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills, Strong phone, email, and in-person communication skills
  • BS in Human Resources/accounting/financial or relevant field
  • Speaking Mandarin is an asset
