Computer Basics for Job Search

Objectives:

  • to learn basic computer functions for effective job search, including word processing
  • to produce resume and cover letters
  • to become familiar with the Internet to search Internet job sites

Content:

  • Preparing resumes and cover letters using Microsoft Word software
  • Retrieving/editing cover letter computer files
  • Using mail merge for letter writing to prospective employers

Job Search with the Internet

Objectives:

  • to effectively use the Internet for job search

Content:

  • Knowing the job market
  • Knowing yourself: self assessment, skills inventory
  • Preparing a resume
