Literacy & Basic Skills

Looking to improve your reading, writing, math and computer skills for college, training or employment?

The Labour Education Centre’s Literacy and Basic Skills class runs Monday to Friday from 9:15 am to 2:30 pm.

The class helps people improve their English, math and computer skills for college/training or employment.

The program is open to women and men over 19 years of age who speak English as their first language, or who can function in English. You must be a Canadian citizen, landed immigrant or refugee.

The program has no fixed start or end date.

The program is free (funded by Employment Ontario).

In a supportive environment, the program builds on participants’ existing knowledge and reflects their diverse learning styles. Our instructors draw on extensive resources relevant to the learner’s occupation and training interests, life needs, current events and community issues.
