LEC’s full-time English class recently enjoyed a 2-day workshop on “Money Matters.” Sponsored by ABC Life Literacy, the financial literacy workshop discussed:
o Banking Basics
o Budgeting and Spending Plans
o Credit and Borrowing
o Savings and RESPs (Registered Education Savings Plan)
Volunteer tutors employed by a major bank brought enthusiasm and expertise to share with the learners.
