This month, the Labour Education Centre’s Literacy & Basic Skills (LBS) Programme in conjunction with our partners at Labour Community Services is hosting a noon hour “Lunch and Learn” film series to celebrate Black History Month on Wednesdays from noon till 1 PM.

The LBS programme is an upgrading programme for people who want to improve their English, math and computer skills for work, learning and life.   The programme will take place here at the Labour Education Centre on the first floor of the Ontario Federation of Labour building,  located at 15 Gervais Drive near Don Mills & Eglinton.    (click here for a Google Map of our location)

From Monday to Wednesday and on Fridays we will be open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

On Thursdays we will open at 9:00 AM and stay open late until 7:30 PM so that we can provide service during the early evening hours.

“Metrolinx“, the Ontario government agency overseeing the construction of the new LRT lines is inviting the public to an information  meeting.  At this gathering they will be  updating the community on this important transit project and share community input on a change that Metrolinx is planning to the tunnel between the new Laird and Don Mills LRT stations.

The meeting will be held from 7:00 – 9:00 PM on Tuesday, December 11th in the Telus Conference Room at the Ontario Science Centre located at 770 Don Mills Road.
